In partnership with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra, KCC hosts an annual concert on its grounds before the July 4 fireworks display.
Campus maps and directions to KCC.
At 3 p.m., the gates open for admission to the symphony concert. Admission is $15 per carload. All proceeds benefit the symphony. Food concessions open at 4 p.m. The youth symphony performance will be at 5:30 p.m. and the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra concert begins at 7 p.m.
The musical program will feature traditional and contemporary music, including patriotic favorites such as Stars and Stripes Forever and the 1812 Overture. The 2008 concert will be underwritten by Riverside HealthCare.
Food concessions will include hot dogs and bratwurst—barbecued on site—plus pizza, popcorn and drinks.
Picnicking is permitted on the grassy KCC grounds, which are handicapped accessible. Ample indoor restrooms are available. Concert goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets; no seating is provided. Tents and grills are allowed in designated areas.
