General Information

Please read this page carefully before filling out the entry form below and tagging your work. See your instructor for additional help in preparing work. Artwork that is not ready to hang, that falls apart, or has incomplete entry tags will not be displayed.

Eligibility

This exhibition is open to students who enrolled in KCC art classes.Students may submit up to three works (a diptych is considered one work) per class that were completed for class credit. Eligible artworks are those which were not shown in previous KCC art shows and were completed in Spring and Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. 

Specifications

All two-dimensional art work must be ready to hang.

Paintings must have screw eyes and a wire attached to the back, no saw tooth hangers. Please do not attach wire or string with tape.

Drawings, 2-d designs and photography must be mounted on a backing, matted and/or framed. No drawings will be accepted without matts. If you don't frame the work and just matt it, you can shrink wrap artwork if you want to protect it. If your artwork has no frame and only a matt it will be displayed with T-pins on the free standing walls. Our gallery only accepts plexi-glass for protection over drawings and photography. No glass is allowed.

Three-dimensional entries are encouraged, with display cases available for small works and floor pedestals for larger pieces. All three-dimensional work must be solidly constructed. (see instructor with questions)

Submission of work – April 4 – April 6 (7:30 p.m.) 

Tagged artwork should be taken to the KCC Learning Resource Center between Monday, April 4, 2011 through Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Hours for delivery are:

  • 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mon-Wed 

Deadline for delivery is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011. No late work will be accepted after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 6.

Tagging

All works submitted must be tagged. Please attach a printed copy of the completed entry form, available below, to the backside, upper right corner of all flatwork and to the bottom of three-dimensional works.

Return of work

All art must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit. No work will be released until 8 p.m. on May 5, 2011. Please see your instructor if there are other needs or problems. Deadline for picking up exhibited work is 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Hours for picking up are:

  • 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Mon-Tues
  • 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Friday
  • 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday

Liability 

The vast majority of students participating in this exhibition do not have an established
market price for their work (obtained by actively selling) and cannot, therefore, expect insurance coverage for their work, except for the cost of materials.

The gallery will not assume liability for loss or damage of entries while in transit. Cost of works stolen or vandalized will be assumed by the gallery (recovery cost will be limited to
materials only).Every reasonable precaution and care will be taken in handling and protecting entries while present on the KCC campus.

Use this fillable PDF entry form to print your artwork's tags. In addition to printing out a completed entry form and attaching it to your artwork, you must submit your entry form electronically.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the entry form.
  2. Fill it out.
  3. Save the completed form to your desktop.
  4. Print the completed form for use as tags to attach to your work
  5. In the fields below, enter your email address and the description “2011 KCC Student Art Show”.
  6. Click the Browse button and browse to the saved entry form on your desktop.
  7. Click the Upload button.
