The college’s Sustainability Center provides information and assistance to students, homeowners, business and commercial interests. One mission of the center is to become a one-stop location for sustainability information.

The Sustainability Center offers electronic information and publications related to energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. It also is an information hub for energy incentives and grant opportunities, energy efficiency and renewable energy, career development, and employment referrals. The center is located on the main floor of KCC's Learning Resource Center. 

KCC also coordinates a Sustainability Network that includes four community colleges in Illinois. Initial funding for the project was received from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Energy and Recycling. The centers will be connected through a Web site which is in the development stage.
