KCC's fifth Sustainability Week was held April 18 - 22, 2011.
On Wednesday, April 20th, 36 exhibitors displayed their products and several hundred students, faculty, staff and members of the general public visited the event which was held from noon until 6:00 p.m. in the Atrium and Student Center areas of campus.
A special presentation of the Energy Wall exhibit from Eastern Illini Electrical Coop was given to students in two of the HVAC technician program courses Thursday night after the Expo. The Energy Wall exhibit was also on display during the Expo.
Twenty Bradley Central seventh graders from Ms. Patricia Nagel's science class displayed artwork they created from recyclable materials.
KCC’s Auto Technology students welcomed the ISU Team Mercury and their Solar Racer to the auto shop on Tuesday night. The racer was on exhibit all day during Wednesday's Expo. Several of KCC’s Electrical Technology students met with the ISU Solar Racer exhibitors during the Expo as well.
Office materials exchange
Faculty and staff participated in KCC's first Office Materials Exchange event, which was held from Thursday, April 21st through Friday the 22nd. Departments brought their no-longer-needed office supplies to a central location. Any staff member could then peruse the collection of office materials and take supplies for re-use in their department.
