Programs

Faculty Development Modules

Required for new faculty, this series of key topics and issues will have participants review and discuss online modules and meet with essential support personnel at the college. All faculty are welcome to participate. Enrollment opens early each fall semester.

Faculty Book Study

Faculty are invited to participate in a semester-long conversation and study. Members take turns facilitating the sessions.

Sign-up now to join one of our two book studies for Spring 2018:

  • Beyond the Skills Gap: Preparing College Students for Life and Work by Matthew T. Hora et al.
  • Curious: The Desire to Know and Why Your Future Depends On It by Ian Leslie

In Fall 2016 we read A Framework for Understanding Poverty by Dr. Ruby K. Payne, the keynote speaker at the January 2017 in-service.

Online Peer Review Program

Highly trained and experienced KCC faculty and staff will provide a detailed peer review of an online course by request. Participants are encouraged to complete the ION Overview of Online Instruction course which provides a foundation helpful for discussing and responding to peer review feedback.

Teaching Squares

This voluntary program attempts to improve teaching and build community through a structured, non-evaluative process of classroom observation and shared reflection. Will be offered February 2018.
