Canvas includes many exciting new features that you may consider incorporating into your course design. Be sure to make the most of these by pursuing all of the available training opportunities!
Choose a training option that suits you
The Teaching and Learning Center will provide training in several convenient delivery modes. Check the TLC calendar for upcoming training sessions and drop-in hours that are currently available. Online, self-paced training is also available inside Canvas at any time, via the Faculty Orientation course, which you'll see listed in your Courses drop-down menu.
NEW: Try the Canvas Challenge! The Canvas Challenge is actually a series of ten mini-challenges that are a hands-on accompaniment to the Faculty Orientation course. After learning about a specific feature set, you will create an item in a sandbox course using what you've learned, and the Teaching & Learning staff will provide you with helpful feedback! To request access to the Canvas Challenge, email CanvasHelp@kcc.edu.
Log in to Canvas
You will log in to Canvas using your KCC username and password. For assistance, contact the ITS Helpdesk.
Prepare for your upcoming courses now
Summer 2017 course shells are now available! You can begin working on your courses now so that they will be ready to publish at the beginning of the summer term. Once logged in to Canvas, you can also request a Sandbox Course shell to practice with by using the Help button in the upper right-hand corner.
Moving ANGEL Courses into Canvas
Angel is no longer available; only previously saved Angel export files can be imported into Canvas course shells. A video tutorial of the import process is available in Module 2 of the Faculty Orientation Canvas course; the procedure is also outlined in this handout. Questions about importing saved Angel courses may be emailed to CanvasHelp@kcc.edu.
