Message from the President Dr. John Avendano

Our message to our students and our community is “Start Here. Finish Anywhere”. Thus, we fully understand we live in a global society.

Therefore, to meet current global challenges, colleges must help students cultivate the skills to interact on the world stage and to be part of the development of the international community. As part of our philosophy and mission, KCC has made the preparation of our students to face these challenges a priority.

In addition to emphasizing the opportunities to learn about various cultures within our domestic borders, KCC believes that our students must have global education opportunities. It is important they learn about cultures and issues that affect all people and the world we inhabit. With that purpose in mind, we continue to further the expansion of our curriculum, international experiences for faculty and students, and the development of sustainability initiatives to make a difference in the future of our planet.

More than any time in the past, people’s jobs require movement across national borders. Global and international educational exchanges help Americans develop ties that will contribute to the economic growth of less-developed countries and provide a foundation to address problems around the world.

It is part of our responsibility as educators to help prepare an internationally competent workforce. KCC takes that responsibility seriously, and we are striving to prepare our students to be individual contributors to our global community.
