What is the Passport for Professional Growth?
Passport for Professional Growth is the guide to professional growth and development for new and veteran KCC faculty both full time and adjunct. Passport consists of three "Pathways."
Pathway 1 introduces new, veteran and adjunct faculty to the KCC environment, assessment and instruction. It is required for all new faculty and aligns with the Non-Tenured Faculty Evaluation Plan year one activities. The course is also highly recommended for Adjunct faculty. These workshops involve pre and post workshop assignments, reading assignments, the use of course management technology – ANGEL, and immediate skill application.
Pathway 2 concentrates on instructional design and the online course management system - ANGEL. This path is optional for all faculty. Module 2 provides instruction related to using the online system for attendance, grading and rosters. Pathway 2 completion is required for aspiring online faculty.
Pathway 3 includes general professional growth topics. As faculty contribute to the profession via presentations and papers, we ask that the material be submitted to this module for the benefit of all KCC faculty.
Why a passport?
The Passport theme builds upon the efforts of KCC to engage a global presence and also the simple idea that with some professional growth, one never knows where one might end up.
