 Each year since 1984, the Century Club has presented its scholarship award at the annual recognition dinner. More than 150 people attended this year's event, held on May 10, 2011 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Kankakee.
Joshua Beneze, a visual arts major, and Nicole Brenneisen, a radiography major, were this year's recipients. Each told compelling stories about their personal and academic experiences, and both thanked the Century Club donors for their support.
 The keynote speaker was Dr. Juan Jimenez, neurosurgeon at Riverside Medical Center. Dr. Jimenez is also the Medical Director of Neurosurgery Consultants at Riverside, an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and former community college student.
Distinguished Alumnus Award
Dominic Surprenant, a 1977 graduate of Kankakee Community College, received the 2011 John Fulton Distinguished Alumnus Award. Surprenant is a Harvard Law School graduate and senior partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, the largest litigation-only law firm in the U.S.
