 Free Financial Aid Workshop

The Free Financial Aid Workshop will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 19 in the Iroquois Room, Room D152.

The Financial Aid Workshop is a hands-on session to fill out the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the form used at all two- and four-year colleges and universities to determine eligibility for federal and state grants, work-study programs, subsidized & unsubsidized student loans and some scholarships.

“It is important to complete a FAFSA as soon as possible in the spring semester for the following school year,” said John Perry, KCC director of financial aid. “It does not matter if the student has not chosen a college or university, or even if the student will attend college. Completing the FAFSA in the spring provides a safety net so when the student’s college plans are finalized; it is not too late to receive grants, student loans and scholarships.

“The FAFSA results allow time to make a financial plan to pay for any student’s college education,” Perry added.
