Kankakee Community College 16th Annual Spring Job Fair
Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010
Time: 1-4 p.m.
Location: KCC College Center
Employers: Booths are available, free of charge, for area businesses and industries to participate. The reservation deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 24. Spaces will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve your space, please upload the registration form from our website and return the form via email or fax.
Job Seekers: This event is open and free to KCC students, alumni, and the community. Professional attire is mandatory and bring a resume! Come network and meet prospective employers face-to-face. Plan, Prepare and Practice!!!
Bring plenty of resumes and dress for success.
Plan....
- Visit the career services webpage to see the list of registered companies that will be in attendance.
- Meet companies from different industries recruiting to fill positions in business management, marketing & advertising, customer service, clerical, law enforcement, allied health, distribution, social work, and much much more!
- Bring a up-to-date resume! This is required for admission. For additional information on resume workshops, please phone 815-802-8575 or click the career preparation workshops tab for dates, times and locations.
Prepare...
- Attend a career preparation workshops hosted by the career services office. Workshop topics include resume development, dressing for success and interviewing skills (special focus is given to working the room at a job fair).
- Dress professionally in business attire (no jeans, gym/lounge wear or t-shirts allowed).
- Make additional copies of your resume. (career services will not be able to search, prepare or make copies of any resumes during the day of the job fair).
Practice...
- Practice your formal introduction followed by a short sales pitch!
- Practice a firm handshake.
- Practice making casual eye contact and having an enthusiastic smile.
