ID Cards 

KCC Photo ID information

Effective Fall 2006, students enrolled at KCC are required to have a KCC photo ID. The photo ID card is required to be carried at all times while on campus. Students must be prepared to present their card to campus security, KCC faculty and administration, and personnel in the Accounting Office, Admissions and Registration, Learning Resource Center (LRC), bookstore, and other offices. Students will receive ID cards during regular registration.

Credit students

Credit students have an active barcode on the front of the card and on the magnetic strip on the back. The card is valid for three years and must be validated every semester.

Authorization/card uses

Credit students can use the card to

  • Check out books from the LRC and I-Share libraries such as Joliet Junior College, Olivet Nazarene University, Governors State University.
  • Enter college-wide activities

In the future, the card will allow access to select areas and doorways, check in and out of the KCC Fitness Center, and to establish accounts for food services and copiers.

Student ID

Fees

No fee for the first card, $5 for each replacement card.

Health Career students

The health student card is used at off-site clinical locations only. It has no active barcode or magnetic strip. The card is valid for two years.

Community students: GED, Upward Bound, and District 520 high school students

The community student card has an active barcode on the front, but does not have an active magnetic strip on the back. The card is valid for two years and must be validated every semester.

Authorization/card uses

Community students can use the card to

  • Check out books from the LRC and some I-Share libraries and
  • Enter college-wide activities.
Community Student ID

Fees

No fee for the first card, $5 for each replacement card.

Staff/faculty members

The staff card has an active barcode on the front and an active identification number in the magnetic strip on the back. The card does not have an expiration date. Human resources will collect the card during the exit interview.

Authorization/card uses

Staff can use the card to

  • Check out books from the LRC and I-Share libraries such as Joliet Junior College, Olivet Nazarene University, and Governors State University.
  • Check in and out at the KCC Fitness Center and
  • Enter college-wide activities

I-Share libraries.

Community Member ID

Fees

$5 for the first card and for each replacement card.

Photo ID statement

All card types have the following statement:

  1. This identification card must be carried at all times and presented to college officials when conducting business with the college.
  2. The use of this card is governed by all Kankakee Community College regulations and is not transferable.
  3. If presented by anyone other than the pictured cardholder, the card will be confiscated and all privileges revoked.
  4. A lost, damaged or stolen identification card must be reported to the Learning Resource Center office. A $5.00 charge will be assessed for each replacement card.
  5. This card remains the property of Kankakee Community College and is to be surrendered on demand by any college official.
