Plug ins:

This page contains links to commonly used free software and browser plug-ins. Any or all of these might be required for your course.

• Adobe Acrobat
• Java Runtime (needed for Online Chat)
• QuickTime
• Macromedia Flash
• Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer
• OpenOffice (Compatible with Microsoft Office and free.)

• Access to a pentium class personal computer with Windows XP or Vista or Macintosh OS/X.
• RAM must be at or above the minimums for the above operating system (ex. at least 128 MB of RAM for XP).
• Internet access via broadband/cable recommended. Some pieces of the course will work over modem and phone line (at least 56 mbps).

Software requirements are:

• Microsoft Word 2003 or higher or WordPerfect (or the ability to save in RTF format).
• Web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer (7) or Mozilla Firefox (3 or higher).
• AOL note: If you use AOL, please minimize the AOL browser and use one of the options listed above.
• E-mail software or a web browser capable of supporting email activity, including sending/receiving attached files.
• Up-to-date antivirus software is highly recommended.
