How do I request a transcript of my KCC courses? Visit the Request a KCC Transcript page for information. To request a transcript by phone, call 815-802-8520 and choose option 1.

When requesting a KCC transcript online, the school I want to send to is not listed on the first page. What can I do? On the first page, the school you choose is the sending school, which is KCC. In a later step, you will provide the name and address of the recipient school.

I just graduated, how long before I receive my diploma? After the end of spring and summer semester, it usually takes three to four weeks before diplomas are mailed.

Why does my transcript show grades for classes I did not attend? Your academic record includes all classes for which you've registered since you first attended KCC. If you did not officially withdraw in writing from a course, then the academic record shows the grade earned as entered by the instructor. Some instructors notify the records office when a student is not attending at midterm, which results in a "WX" (withdrawn for not attending) on the record.

I would like to request my GED transcript. I acquired my GED at KCC. Although KCC offers pre-GED classes and is a test center for the GED, official scores and transcripts are kept at the Regional Superintendent's Office. Please request your GED through the Iroquois-Kankakee Regional Office of Education at 815-937-2950.

How can I get copies of my health records and immunizations? Bring a photo ID and provide a written request for the documents to the Office of Admissions and Registration. Please allow two business days for the copies to be available.

How do I change my address/phone number/email address? Log in to your student account in KCConnect and navigate to the Address Change link on the Students menu or obtain a Change of Address form at the registration counter. Due to privacy laws, we cannot make a change to your address and/or phone number over the phone. 

How do I correct an error in my record? Notify the Admissions and Registration Office at 815-802-8523 and identify the error to staff. Please allow two business days for us to review the materials you have identified. We will inform you of any changes made to your record, if applicable.

What is FERPA? The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records and a student's right to review and correct them. Visit the Student Privacy Rights page for more information.

How can my parent(s) have access to my information? Parents of legally dependent students have the right to inspect records without written permission. An official copy of the current year's federal income tax return, which identifies the student as a dependent for income tax purposes, can be used as proof. For all other requests, the student must complete a release form for authorization.

How do I verify my enrollment status for my employer or insurance provider? Submit an enrollment verification request form to the main campus registration counter or fax it to 815-802-8521. If your insurance company or employer has a form for us to complete, please submit it with the request.  

How do I request an "Incomplete" grade? Prior to submission of final grades, submit an incomplete grade request form, signed by the professor, to the Office of Admissions and Registration. Course work must be completed by the date specified on the request, which is not to exceed six months from the ending date of the semester/term. If work is not completed by the specified time, a grade of F will be recorded.

What is an academic warning? A student is placed on academic warning when his/her cumulative grade point average falls below a required standard. Refer to section 6.0 of the Code of Campus Affairs and Regulations.

What does academic suspension mean? A student on academic suspension may not enroll in college credit courses for a period of time. Academic suspension is the action taken for students who do not improve their grades (cumulative GPA) during an academic warning period. Refer to sections 6.4, 6.5 and 7.0 of the Code of Campus Affairs and Regulations,

I have a balance on my account. Can I still request a transcript? No, a transcript will not be released until all financial obligations have been paid. Phone the Accounting Office at 815-802-8140 for information on your balance or to set up a payment plan.

How do I get a replacement diploma? The Diploma Replacement Request Form is available online, at the registration desk in Student Services or one can be mailed or faxed to you. Mail or fax the completed form to the Admissions and Registration Office. There is a $25 replacement fee. Your diploma will be mailed within four to six weeks.
