In most cases, if fewer than 12 students enroll in a course, the course will be canceled. If a class is canceled for the semester prior to the start of the class, you will receive a letter in the mail along with a revised registration statement showing the status of the class canceled.
If you enrolled in a course that is later cancelled, you will receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees for the canceled course unless you transfer to another class during the same semester.
You may withdraw from a course or from the college without receiving a punitive grade any time before the end of the 10th week of a 16-week semester or before 63 percent of a term has elapsed for classes scheduled for fewer than 16 weeks. Withdrawal dates are posted on the student's registration statement and on "My registration statement" in KCConnect.
If circumstances prevent you from coming to the college to submit a withdrawal form, you may withdraw by mailing or faxing a request to the Office of Admissions and Registration or through KCConnect during designated times.
If the college is notified of a withdrawal through the mail, the letter must be postmarked no later than the date of the last day on which withdrawals will be allowed for a particular semester or class.
Mail withdrawals received over the weekend that are postmarked on or before the last day to withdraw will be honored and will be processed the following workday.
No withdrawals will be accepted over the telephone. All withdrawal requests must be in writing and signed and dated by the student or electronically through KCConnect.
A student may ask for withdrawal by sending a signed fax to 815-802-8521. The student's ID number should be included in the request.
Withdrawing students will receive a 100% tuition refund through 10% of the duration of the course. No refund is given after 10% of a course has elapsed.
If the final day for a refund falls on a weekend or on a date when the campus is closed, the refund deadline is extend to the following business day.
For the exact refund deadline for any course, see your registration statement, contact the Office of Admissions and Registration or the Accounting Office at 815-802-8140.
Refunds will not be granted due to a change of course instructor.
A refund from a credit card payment will be made in the form of a credit to the cardholder's account.
