KCC's sports camps teach fundamental skills while developing leadership and sportsmanship. The camps combine individual and team instruction with games focused on developing the skills and techniques important to team competition.

KCC sponsors a number of summer sports camps for grade school through high school-aged athletes:

Bill Cartwright Basketball Camp of Champions

Bill Cartwright camp logoThis camp features Bill Cartwright, who was a player and coach on five Chicago Bulls championship teams.

Camp is open to boys and girls entering 4th-12th grades. Each participant will learn fundamentals from a world champion basketball player! At the end of camp, players will take home a picture & signed autograph from Bill Cartwright!

Cartwright's son, Justin, also will be a camp instructor, along with KCC's basketball coaches, Julian Springer and Donnie Denson. Justin Cartwright is head coach of Chicagoland Jewish High School Girls Basketball. Other coaches to be announced.

Who: Boys and girls entering 4th-12th grades
When: Tues. - Fri., June 10-13, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.  
Where: KCC Ryan Gymnasium.

Boys Baseball camp

2013 was Todd Post 's 13th season as the head coach of the Cavaliers baseball team. His accumulated record is 542-248-4. Prior to 2001, he was the assistant coach for seven years.

This camp features individual and team instruction in hitting, bunting, pitching, catching, base running, infield and outfield defense. The camp will cover physical conditioning as well as teaching leadership and sportsmanship.

Wear appropriate baseball attire: baseball pants or sweat pants, T-shirt, tennis shoes or rubber cleats. Bring a baseball glove and bat (if you have one). Receive a T-shirt and camp participation certificate.

Girls Volleyball camp

Head Coach Gary Sien took over the reins of the Cavaliers volleyball program in 2000.  A veteran coach of over 900 matches, he has compiled over 500 wins.

The focus of the 3 day camp will be teaching the basic skills of volleyball through lecture, demonstration and video presentations. Then, through a progression of drills, camp participants will gain a better understanding of how to execute the skills in an organized and tactile manner.

Campers should wear T-shirt, shorts, knee pads and athletic shoes.  Receive a T-shirt, and camp participation certificate.

Soccer camp

Mike Barclay is starting his first season as head coach of the Cavaliers soccer team. He was the Cavaliers assistant during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Mike has been the goalkeeper coach for the ONU women's soccer team since 2002, and has coached recreation teams, travel teams and high school programs for 12 years..

This four-day camp will focus on improving fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Campers will also learn basic tactical strategies for team play. Each session will have fun games and activities for campers to enjoy.

Wear appropriate soccer attire: shin guards, long socks, T-shirt, cleats or tennis shoes. Bring a ball. Receive a T-shirt and camp participation certificate.
