The Cavaliers concluded the regular season with a 22-8 record. In the Region IV tournament, KCC was the no. 1 seed (10-2 vs. Region IV opponents) and reached the championship game for the third consecutive year. The Cavs fought back to defeat Kennedy-King College 73-61, winning the Region IV title for the first time since 2010.
The win set up the District IV championship vs. Mineral Area College,, with the winner earning a bid to the 2015 NJCAA National Tournament. After a hard fought game, KCC fell 57-55, finishing the season with two postseason wins and a final record of 24-9. For the season, the Cavaliers shattered the previous school record of points allowed (53.8 PPG, 2013-14), allowing only 47.5 points per game (6th in the nation).
2014-15 men's basketball individual awards
Congratulations to 6'2" sophomore guard DeVante Price who was selected as NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American, First Team All-Region IV, and Region IV First Team All-Tournament. The high flying guard from Tamms, Ill. led the Cavaliers in scoring (15.7 PPG), rebounds (6.5 RPG), steals (1.5 SPG), and field goal percentage (57.5%).
Congratulations to 6'6" freshman forward Elliott Sentance who was selected Second Team All-Region IV, and Region IV First Team All-Tournament. The Whetstone, England, native was second in scoring (12.4 PPG), rebounds (5.5 RPG), tied for second in three point percentage (39.4%) and led the team in free throw percentage (78.1%).
The Cavaliers finished 2013-14 as the Region IV runner-up for the second consecutive year! The Cavs ended the season as a national Top 25 program with a record of 25-5. At the end of the regular season, KCC was the top ranked team in Region IV (9-1 vs. region opponents). The Cavaliers set a school record on defense, allowing only 53.8 points per game. Another school record in field goal percentage (53.3%), also lead the nation at the end of the season.
2013-14 men's basketball individual awards
Congratulations to 6'6" sophomore forward Alvin Braddock who was selected as a Second Team All-American, Region IV First Team All-Region, and Region IV First Team All-Tournament. The Kankakee native led the Cavaliers in scoring (15 PPG), rebounds (11.3 RPG), blocks (1.5 BPG), and field goal percentage (64%).
Congratulations to Devonte Smith who was a Second Team All-Region IV selection. The 6'4" Chicago native finished second in scoring this season for KCC, with 14.9 points per game. He also adding 5.8 rebounds per contest.
Congratulations to 6'6" guard Jawad Adekoya who was ranked 7th in the nation in three point percentage at 49.4% (44-89) and 12th in the nation in free throw percentage at 86.8% (99-114). Adekoya finished as the third leading score for KCC (13.3 PPG).
