Region Champs 2015 NJCAA

Region Champs 2015!

The KCC men’s basketball team defeated Kennedy King in overtime 73-61 to win the regional championship for the first time since 2011.

Devantae Price was the tournament MVP finishing the game with 24 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and a game-saving layup with 0.2 seconds left to force overtime. Darrion Beane was an all-tournament selection finishing the game with 15 points. Elliott Sentance finished the game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Cavaliers finished the regular season first place in the region with a record of 10-2 and have an overall record of 24-9.

The men's basketball team has participated in the National “Sweet 16” held in Hutchinson, Kan. six times, advancing to the Final Four in 2000 and the National Championship game in 1985 and 1988. The Cavaliers have won the regional championship 16 times and have 23 junior college All-Americans. Currently, eleven former Cavaliers are on four-year university rosters.

Home games are played in the George Ryan Gymnasium in the college's Activities Center.
