In 2010, Joseph Lightfoot is entering his 17th year in the Cavaliers program, and his fifth year as head coach.
Lightfoot was a starting guard/small forward for the nationally ranked Cavaliers squad in 1988 and 1989. In 1989, he was named to the NJCAA 12-member All-Star team. After KCC, he continued his career at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, playing for Ralph Willard.
In 2000, Coach Lightfoot became the college’s first former athlete to both play and coach in the national finals. He has been directly involved in 372 wins as both a player and coach.
Prior to completing his degree at Western Kentucky University, Lightfoot graduated with an associate degree in Liberal Studies from KCC in 1989. Lightfoot is a 1987 graduate of Kankakee High School and currently works as the Coordinator of Brother to Brother and Academic Advisor at KCC.
Coach Lightfoot and his wife Staci reside in Kankakee. They are the proud parents of Joseph Willie III, Sion Joseph and Jace Sanaa.
