2009 Season Preview

The KCC Cavaliers soccer team is poised to make a dramatic turnaround this season competitively and academically. The roster is 22 men strong and has a diverse core. The players come from some top local programs, such as Manteno, Bradley-Bourbonnais Community and Bishop McNamara Catholic high schools. Experience, skill and intensity to this developing team also will come from recent Kankakee High School standouts and the return of Erik Villagomez (U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran).
In the net, the Cavaliers are stronger than in years past. The mighty Trinidad Sanchez (Iroquois West) is aggressive and his agility defies his size. Cary Cadle (Herscher) and Skyler Mills (Herscher) bring experience and a hardened determination to the goal keeping staff.
Coach Acevedo and his assistants, Jose Smith and Roque Cutuli, increased recruitment efforts to bring in experienced players that span the Western Hemisphere. Humberto Tellez (Bolivia), Jerome Phillip (Trinidad), Luis Figueiras (Mexico) and Hernan Cortes (Mexico) are from some of the top development clubs in Mexico City, Honduras and Brazil. They will bring a global vibe to the Cavaliers program.
"Aqui empiezan los golasos!" The is the year of the revolution!
