David Acevedo is in his fourth season as the Cavaliers soccer coach.

He was born in Kankakee and played soccer for three years at Kankakee High School.

After high school, Coach Acevedo attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education.

Acevedo’s coaching experience includes serving as head coach at Reed-Custer High School for four years, highlighted by a record of 16-1-2 in 2000. He also coached the Kankakee Valley Park District team in 1991 and 1992.

After coaching boy's soccer and developing multiple soccer programs, Acevedo tried his hand with the Kankakee Valley Park District’s women's program for two years. Currently Coach Acevedo is a high school teacher at Herscher High School.
