Keith Cooper


Head Coach Keith Cooper is in his first season coaching the Lady Cavaliers softball program after taking over for retired Hall of Fame Coach Dennis Clark.

Coach Cooper has been coaching various levels of players in youth sports for 23 years. He held multiple positions on local league boards of directors, as well as being president of the Kankakee Knights of Columbus Little League, Knights of Columbus Bronco League, Kankakee Elks Pony League and the Kankakee Valley Colt and Palomino League. He has been a coach at tournaments at Illinois State University in Normal and Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He also has coached teams in three NSA State Fast Pitch Softball Tournaments in Illinois.

Prior to becoming the Lady Cavs' head softball coach, he was the official scorekeeper at home games for KCC's women's basketball, and often traveled with the team.

Cooper was born in Kankakee and raised in Limestone. He graduated from Kankakee High School and also studied law enforcement at KCC. He worked at AT&T for 18 years.

Coach Cooper and his wife, Lisa, reside in Kankakee. They have four children, Doug (Traci), Brittany, Jordan, and Austin. They have one granddaughter, Autumn, and a grandson on the way.
