Season Preview

The Lady Cavs return eight players from a strong team that finished seventh in the NJCAA Div. II National Tournament in 2017.

The Cavaliers will depend on the strong play and leadership of returning sophomores Jenna Arseneau in center field, Lindsey Andrews at shortstop, Marissa West at second base, Halle McCrory behind the plate at catcher, Blake Ruiz at first base, Cheyenne Koehne in left field, Emma Ledbetter at third base, and Jessica Stansch on the pitching mound.

The team is adding a solid sophomore transfer in Morgan Charters (catcher/outfield) who will provide much needed depth and power that complements freshmen Mikayla Cole (pitcher), Megan Lanie (outfield), Ramsey Johnson (corner infielder), Amber Daly (outfield/infield), and Kasey Holloway (corner infield).

With dependable hitting, power, and speed as well as top pitching from the area, the Lady Cavs expect to compete for a 20th consecutive NJCAA Region IV Championship and opportunity to place at the National Tournament in Clinton, Miss.

This year also brings a new head coach to the Cavaliers. Keith Cooper is replacing Hall-of-Famer Dennis Clark, who has retired after a storied career of 35 years at the helm of the Lady Cavs.
