About GirlSTEAM

Girlsteam logo is a 5 leaf pink clover with 5 steam imagesGirlSTEAM is a summer program for girls entering grades 6-8 to introduce careers in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). Participants earn certificates of completion and receive a GirlSTEAM T-shirt. The one-day courses are held in June and July. Each course follows the same schedule: 

  • 8:30-10 a.m., class 
  • 10-10:15 a.m., break
  • Noon - 12:30 p.m., lunch (not included)  
  • 12:30-2 p.m., class
  • 2-2:15 p.m., break 
  • 2:15-4 p.m., class

Register for one or more courses; discounts apply for multiple registrations. All courses are held in the Workforce Development Center on KCC's Riverfront Campus.

Requirements

  • All registrations must include emergency medical information
  • Bring a sack lunch and snacks
  • Girls must be escorted and signed in and out of class by a parent or guardian. A fee will be assessed for any children left more than 10 min. after their class session has ended.
