Early Childhood Education - EDUC.AAT.B28

This program fulfills the first two years of most early childhood education bachelor's degrees. Students should check individual school requirements prior to transfer and before completing the curriculum as outlined. It includes general education, professional education, and early childhood education courses. These courses encompass the 11 Illinois Professional Teaching Standards, the Core Technology Standards, the Core Language Arts Standards, and all pertinent Early Childhood Education Standards. Students entering this program are advised to complete this degree prior to transfer.

Additional Program Information

Students must be certified by the state of Illinois that they have passed the Illinois Basic Skills test and must have a portfolio reflecting the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards to earn the AAT in Early Childhood Education degree.

Admission into baccalaureate degree programs is competitive and most senior institutions require a GPA of 2.5 or higher; completion of these courses alone does not guarantee admission.
