Placement Testing 

All students planning to register for English, mathematics, or an IAI General Education course and all students who intend to enroll for nine semester hours or more at KCC are required to have a placement test score on file for registration and advisement. Therefore, placement testing is required for most new students.

Other placement testing

An ACT English score of 20 will be accepted for placement into into ENGL 1613 and out of the reading requirement. An ACT mathematics score of 22 places the student into MATH 1613, MATH 1704*, MATH 1774*, MATH 1814, MATH 1803, MATH 2113 or BSNS 2514. An ACT mathematics score of 25 or higher will place the student in MATH 2515*, MATH 1713* or MATH 1833*. Appropriate ACT math score must be two years or less before the course begins. COMPASS scores will be accepted from other colleges.
