TRiO Student Support Services

The TRiO Student Support Services program assists the following categories of students who are seeking to transfer to four-year institutions to complete bachelor's degrees: students who are first-generation, students who meet federal income guidelines and students who are disabled. A first-generation student is a student whose parents have not received bachelor's degrees.

Services offered TRiO Trib (February 2013)

  • Personalized academic counseling
  • Assistance with course selection and registration
  • Counseling to select the career or major best suited to the student
  • Assistance with information on the full range of student financial aid programs
  • Assistance with completing applications for financial aid and scholarships
  • Assistance with the transfer process
  • Laptop loan program
  • Textbook loan program 
  • Referrals for tutoring services
  • Workshops
  • Cultural experiences for TRiO students, including trips to career sites, community events, theatrical or musical entertainment and social events
  • College and university campus tours
  • Supplemental grant-aid to eligible TRiO SSS students
  • Promotion of student success
