A current KCC photo ID card is required to check out books and other materials. The barcode number on the card is used as a password for some electronic resources and web resources available off campus.
The ID processor is generally located in the library. However, during peak registration times, the ID processor is in Student Services. Ask at the circulation desk in the library to verify its location.
Initial IDs for staff and students are free of charge. Students must present a photo ID and registration verification in order to obtain or validate a KCC photo ID. IDs are valid only for the current semester and must be validated each following semester of enrollment. Replacement IDs may be purchased for $5.00.
Any resident of the Kankakee Community College District 520 may obtain a library card at a cost of $5.00 with proof of residence and a state ID. Cards are valid for two years.
