"Persepolis" film and discussion

Location: KCC Auditorium, Room L110
Start Time: 3/20/2018 12:30 PM
End Time: 3/20/2018 2:30 PM

“Persepolis” begins in 1970s Iran, with a young Marjane 'Marji' Statrapi and her idealistic family. The Statrapi family is happy when the hated Shah is defeated during the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Marji then grows up as a witness of the new Iran, now ruled by Islamic fundamentalists, which becomes a repressive tyranny on its own.

The discussion will be led by Trisha Dandurand, a KCC professor; and Dr. Sheldon Walcher, the associate dean of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.
