The film tells the story of an Irish couple, Johnny and Sarah Sullivan, who, following the tragic death of their 5-year-old son Frankie, immigrate illegally to the U.S. with little in their pockets. They bring their two surviving children to Manhattan and move into a run-down tenement. The memory of Frankie looms over the family, especially when Sarah discovers she is pregnant.
The discussion will be led by Karen Becker, director of KCC’s Miner Memorial Library.
