An information session will be held Monday, Feb. 26 from 7-8:30 p.m. at two locations for Kankakee Community College’s new Fast Path program.
Participants can attend the information session at either the Miner South Extension Center in Watseka, or the Riverfront Campus in Kankakee.
The Fast Path Program uses a schedule of two classes at a time, two days a week for students to earn an Associate in Arts transfer degree in two years. New classes begin every eight weeks. Students will be in class for about three hours a day, two days a week. The course sequence, dates and times are prearranged and guaranteed.
KCC is offering Fast Path at two locations, the Riverfront Campus in Kankakee and the Miner South Extension Center in Watseka. Only 20 students will be admitted at each site, so applying early is encouraged. KCC professors Jennifer Huggins and Rexann McKinley are coordinating the program.
“We’ve done the planning, and taken the guesswork out of college,” said Huggins. “Fast Path students will have a support system they can rely on. We mentor, guide and coach each student. We want them to be successful.”
“We give students the tools they need, including a new laptop,” McKinley said. “Our graduates will be ready to transfer as juniors to a four-year college or university.”
Applications are now being accepted, and classes will begin in Aug. 2018. More information and application materials are at fastpath.kcc.edu.
For questions, contact Huggins at email@example.com or 815-802-8484, or McKinley at firstname.lastname@example.org or 815-802-8708. Directions to both KCC locations are at www.kcc.edu/directions.
