Online SAT & ACT prep classes

Date: 1/2/2018

Online SAT/ACT prep classes are being offered by the Continuing Education Department of Kankakee Community College.

“SAT/ACT Prep – Part 1” concentrates on the English, reading, essay and related portions of the tests. It includes grammar and usage reviews. Preparation includes the SAT sections on Information & Ideas, Rhetoric, and Synthesis questions based on reading passages and quantitative information. The class will be geared to the rules that students are tested on in the ACT and SAT.

“SAT/ACT Prep – Part 2” concentrates on the math portions of the tests. It includes reviews of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and basic statistics. Functions and other algebra II subjects now tested on the SAT also will be covered.

Both classes prepare participants for specific question types, offer pointers in time management, anxiety relief, scoring, and general standardized test-taking. Weekly assignments encourage working with classmates and instructors to maximize their performance on the ACT or SAT.

Each class offers start dates each month: Jan. 17, Feb. 17, March 14 and April 11. The cost is $94 per class.

These courses do not award college credit. More information and registration is at Call KCC at 815-802-8207 to make a payment.
