The Continuing Education Department at Kankakee Community College has a partnership with online education provider Ed2go to provide instructor-led online courses in hundreds of topics.
“Learning online is convenient for today’s busy lifestyles,” said Deb Denson, assistant director of the Continuing Education Department at KCC. “Learn from the comfort of your home, the coffee shop, library, or anywhere, really. All it takes is a laptop or smart tablet and an internet connection. Each course is led by an instructor. You will be able to interact with other fellow students all while learning practical information that you can use today.”
The courses have new sessions beginning every month. Upcoming start dates are Jan. 17, Feb. 14, March 14 and April 11. Most courses run for six weeks and are composed of 12 lessons, representing 24 hours of instruction. Classes start as low as $94, with prices varying based on the number of hours of instruction.
Topics include personal development (such as cooking nutritious meals or learning sign language), business skills, technology and computer training, healthcare and medical, writing and language skills. The courses do not award college credit, but some classes include continuing education credits upon successful completion for some professions.
