The Continuing Education Department at Kankakee Community College is offering a number of online computer skills classes. Each class has a new session beginning every month. The upcoming start dates are Jan. 17, Feb. 14, March 14 and April 11. The cost is $94 for each.
“Introduction to QuickBooks” teaches how to manage the financial aspects of a small business quickly and efficiently. The class has 12 lessons, including how to set up a chart of accounts; reconcile a checking account; create and print invoices, receipts, and statements.
“Creating Mobile Apps with HTML5” teaches how to imagine, design, build, and optimize a cross-platform mobile app using the latest HTML5 standards. App creation for iPhones, iPads, Android, and Windows is covered.
“Responsive Web Design” shows how to create websites that are optimized for smartphones, tablets, and laptop/desktop viewing. It includes page layouts, scaling elements, color schemes and accessible forms on websites. Topics include how to use HTML5 to link to media queries in CSS3 and how jQuery Mobile can help.

Kankakee Community College is an accredited two-year college which awards
