Transfer Center

The Fall 2009 College Fair will be Monday, Sept. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at KCC. Representatives from approximately 40 four-year colleges and universities are expected to attend.

Students planning to transfer from KCC to four-year colleges or universities to complete their baccalaureate degrees can receive assistance through the Transfer Center. The goal of the Transfer Center is to increase the number of students who complete degree requirements at KCC and successfully transfer to four-year institutions.

KCC participates in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide transfer agreement for general education courses. For more information about IAI, go to their Web site at www.itransfer.org and choose IAI.

To find out how your courses will count toward a bachelor's degree, visit the U.Select Illinois web site at www.transfer.org. Information about how courses transfer between participating institutions, the majors institutions offer, the graduation requirements for different majors, and how course credits transfer to satisfy degree requirements is available. You may login as a guest to access most of the resources available on the site.

Online bachelor's degree completion

Offered through a partnership, the online bachelor's degree completion program provides students a convenient way to earn their bachelor's degree. KCC currently has bachelor's degree completion agreements with the University of Illinois Global Campus; Franklin University of Columbus, Ohio; the University of Illinois at Springfield; Western Illinois University and Capella University of Minneapolis.

The online bachelor's degree completion program usually combines on-campus classes at KCC with online courses through these universities. After students earn an associate degree from KCC, they can complete "bridge" courses at KCC and take online classes through these universities.
