Liberal Studies Online Program
The Liberal Studies Online program at the University of Illinois at Springfield is a 60-hour undergraduate degree completion program. Although participants need to have some experience using a computer and navigating the Internet to participate in the program, UIS provides orientation and ongoing technical and student support to its online learners.
Entry requirements:
- Earned an associate degree, or a minimum of 45 credit hours at the freshman/sophomore level
- Hold a grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale from an KCC or another accredited college or university
- Have completed three semester hours of English composition
- Successfully complete the application process and entrance interview-may be completed via telephone, e-mail, or in person
Program highlights:
- Eliminates time and travel constraints that are characteristic of a traditional on-campus program
- Students design their own individualized bachelor's degrees
- Courses can be chosen from a variety of academic programs
- Program staff is available to help with navigating the university admissions and registrations systems
- Program staff is available to help obtain textbooks and other course materials
