TRiO Student Support Services

The TRiO Student Support Services program assists the following categories of students who are seeking to transfer to four-year institutions to complete bachelor's degrees: students who are first-generation, students who are eligible for financial aid and students who are disabled. A first-generation student is a student whose parents have not received bachelor's degrees.
Services offered
- Personalized academic counseling
- Assistance with course registration
- Counseling to select the career or major best suited to the student
- Assistance with applications for financial aid and scholarships
- Meetings with a variety of college representatives
- Assistance with the transfer process
- Study groups with other students in the same classes
- Referrals for tutoring services
- Workshops for TRiO and other college students
- Cultural experiences for TRiO students, including trips to career sites, community events, theatrical or musical entertainment and social events
- Personal e-mail accounts
- Promotion of student success
