What is a "general" transfer degree?
A general transfer degree programs is ideal for students who have not yet decided what their specific major will be at a senior institution or students who will pursue a major that isn't one of KCC's major-specific transfer degrees. In short, a general transfer degree can be customized to meet requirements of the first two years for almost any four-year degree.

Each major-specific transfer degree program is designed for students who have decided to seek a bachelor's degree in the specific area listed. These programs are designed to meet requirements of the first two years of a four-year degree.

What is an Associate in Applied Science degree?
An Associate in Applied Science degree program, which usually requires a minimum of 64 credit hours, is an occupational program intended for the student who wants to acquire technical skills to enter the job market directly from KCC or who is already in the job market but needs retraining or skills upgrading.
Programs are offered in the business, health and technology areas. In many cases, students also may take individual courses that fit their job training needs without being enrolled in a degree or certificate program.
What is a certificate of completion?
Certificates of completion require up to one year of full-time study. The length of each program depends on the program.
