Textbooks for the Fall 2014 semester can be purchased beginning Monday, Aug. 4. A photo I.D. is required for all textbook purchases.
The KCC Hammes Bookstore sells required textbooks, school supplies, greeting cards, and gift items, including KCC clothing.
The bookstore accepts cash, checks, and Visa®, MasterCard® and Discover® cards. Receipts cannot be provided after the day of purchase.
Textbooks may change from semester to semester. When a textbook edition changes, and the book is kept past the refund or buyback deadline, the book is not returnable. Therefore, it is recommended that students purchase books only for the upcoming semester.
Textbooks and other course materials can be ordered online at KCC's bookstore website. Textbooks ordered online are chosen by using KCC course numbers.
All bookstore returns must be accompanied by a cash register receipt and student I.D. No exceptions.
At the beginning of each semester, students who have decided not to take a credit division course for which they purchased a book may return the textbook within the first two weeks of school with their receipt. Students will receive a full refund if the book is in new condition. Packaged access codes sold with textbooks are not returnable if the access code has been revealed.
If you have a late starting class, you have one week from the beginning date of your class to return your book with receipt and copy of schedule for a refund.
The bookstore purchases back select textbooks at a percentage of the original cost during specified 'Buyback Days' at the end of each semester. Specific dates are posted at the bookstore. Books must be in "like new" condition with a maximum of no more that 15 pages of highlighting and no water damage or torn pages to qualify. A photo or student ID is required for all buyback transactions. Information on which books can be bought back by the bookstore is only available on buyback dates. You get money in your pocket and you help a future student buy them at "used" book prices -- it's a win-win!
Buyback is in the Iroquois Room (Room D152), south of the College Center, in the Workforce Development Center.
