KCC has had good experience relative to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment and wishes to continue these favorable conditions through cooperation among the college's security personnel, students and staff.
The college has a contracted security service which patrols parking areas, campus buildings and grounds. The college's Physical Plant Department staff and administration also are dedicated to maintaining campus safety and security.
The college's security personnel has the authority to contact the Kankakee Police Department, which has the authority to make arrests as necessary on college property and at college-sponsored events.
The college also recommends that all students, staff and visitors intensify their awareness and take responsibility for locking vehicles, being consciously aware of personal belongings and identifying and reporting unsafe conditions.
