Checklist for successful transfer

  1. Complete an application for admission to KCC. Take the Compass test or have your official ACT scores sent from ACT. Have your final high school transcripts and transcripts from any other college or university sent to KCC's admissions office.
  2. Determine your major area of interest by consulting the Career Planning Services office, the KCC catalog, and the coordinator of the Transfer Center.
  3. Consult an academic adviser each semester to choose and enroll in courses to transfer to the baccalaureate institution.
  4. Attend open house dates at baccalaureate colleges and universities.
  5. Select your transfer college or university and check on its application period for transfer students. Have your KCC transcript sent to the chosen college or university when submitting your application.
  6. Schedule an appointment with an academic advisor in order to complete your petition to graduate the semester (fall or spring) prior to transfer.
  7. After acceptance into baccalaureate school, have your final KCC transcript sent to the school with the degree posted. Attend orientation and registration at the senior institution.
