We're glad you're here! Whether you are a first-time student, returning from last semester, or haven't been on campus for a while, KCC staff and faculty are here to help.

Stay connected

KCC on social media - Keep up-to-date with campus news and events. Major announcements are posted on the college's Facebook page and Twitter account. Several programs and departments have a Facebook presence as well. Check out our comprehensive list of sites and follow your interests.

Canceled class notifications - If one of your classes is canceled, you will be notified by phone at least 30 minutes before class begins. Cancellations are also posted on the class cancellation page.

College closures - Sign up for alerts to be notified of college closures (such as weather-related closings). Visit the School Messenger Alerts page for information and steps to sign up. 

Forward your campus email - You have a KCC email account, hosted by Google. To make sure you see the student.kcc.edu emails; create a rule and forward them to your personal account.

Books, food, and child care 

Hammes Bookstore - For detailed information, visit the Hammes Bookstore page. A few other notes: textbooks change from semester to semester. Bring a copy of your class schedule so you purchase the correct books. You must have your student ID in to purchase textbooks.

Child care - On-campus child care is available to students and employees. For hours and more information, check out KCC's Child Development Center.

Information Technology Services - Need help with student email, passwords, Canvas and KCConnect? Trying to locate a computer lab? Check out the resources on the ITS Helpdesk website

Tutoring - Get help with your studies. KCC offers free tutoring services for a variety of course subjects.

Getting here

Transportation - Do you take public transportation? River Valley Metro stops at KCC three times per hour and there are other transportation options, too.

Parking - Learn where student, handicapped and motorcycle parking are by reviewing parking information.

Around campus - Find your way around using campus, refer to the campus maps.
