5/15-16/2008
Cavs go 1-2 in National Tourney; End Season
Record: 43-11

The KCC lady cavaliers fell to Iowa Lakes C.C. 8-2, before picking up a win against Oakland C.C. 10-1 in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.  With a 1-1 record, the Cavaliers needed to defeat Heartland College in order to stay in the tournament.  Heartland College, though, had already beat the Cavaliers twice during the regular season.  The Cavaliers luck wasn't so good, as they fell 2-0 to end their 2008 season.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (21-4) was the losing pitcher.  Havertine threw 4 innings, allowed 5 runs, 8 hits and struck out 3.
Natalie Zalud finished 3-4 with a run scored, while Kylie Justus went 2-4.
Laura Pfotenhauer and Krista Kunz each recorded a single hit in the loss.
In game two, Ashley Havertine (22-4) pitched 5 innings, allowed 1 run, 5 hits, walked 2 and struck out 6.
Maggie Ruyle finished 2-2 from the plate, while Brittany Morgan finished 1-3 with 1 RBI.  Megan Flatt went 1-3 from the plate, with homerun, 4 RBI's and 1 run scored and Kayla Kramer went 1-3 with a homerun, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
In the final game, Ashley Havertine (22-5) pitched 7 innings, allowed 2 runs, 5 hits and struck out 5.
Megan Flatt and Natalie Zalud both went 1-3 in the loss.

CAVS WIN
Record: 42-9

The KCC softball team defeated College of Lake County, 11-0, on Sunday, to claim the Region IV Championship for the 10th straight year.
Ashley Havertine (21-3) took the win.  Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 2 hits, walked 3 and struck out 11.
Laura Pfotenhauer went 4-4 with a double, a run scored and 4 RBIs while Megan Flatt finished 3-4 with a homerun, a double, 3 runs scored and 4 RBIs.  Krista Kunz was 3-2 with a run scored and a RBI and Kayle Kramer was 2-3 with a double and 1 run scored.
Laura Pfotenhauer, Ashley Havertine, Brittany Fairbairn and Megan Flatt were all named to the Region IV All-Tournament Team.
The Cavaliers will play in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament on Thursday, May 15th in Bloomington, IL.  Game time and opponent are both TBA.

Cavs Win
Record: 41-9

The KCC softball team picked up two wins in the Region IV Tournament, defeating McHenry County College 2-0 and College of Lake County, 5-1.
Ashley Havertine (19-3) was the winning pitcher in game one. Havertine threw 7 innings, allowed 4 hits, walked 2 and struck out 10.
Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-4 with a double and a run scored.  Kylie Justus and Laura Pfotenhauer both went 2-3, in the win.
In the second game of the tournament, Havertine (20-3) again was the winning pitcher.  Havertine threw 7 innings, allowed 1 run, 1 hit and struck out 10.
Megan Flatt finished 2-3 with a double, Brittany Fairbairn was 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI's and Kylie Justus finished 1-3 with a run scored. 
The Cavaliers will play College of Lake County on Sunday in the Region IV championship.  Games will be played at the Inwood Sports Complex in Joliet, IL.

Cavs Win 2
Record: 39-9

The KCC softball team picked up two wins against Prairie State College in the Region IV Playoff game Tuesday afternoon.  The Cavaliers came out on top 12-0 and 10-0.
In the first game, Ashley Havertine (18-3) recorded the win. Ashley threw 5 innings, allowed only 1 hit and struck out 6.
Megan Flatt finished 1-2 with a homerun and 5 RBI's while Kayla Kramer went 1-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI's.  Maggie Ruyle was 1-2 with a homerun and 1 RBI and Krista Kunz finished 2-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI.
In game two, Paige Sinnett (10-4) was the winning pitcher.  Paige threw 3 innings, allowed 2 hits and struck out 3.
Megan Flatt went 2-3 with a double, a homerun, 2 runs scored and 7 RBI's while Kayla Kramer finished 1-3 with a homerun.  Kylie Justus was 1-2 with a double and a run scored while Natalie Zalud went 2-3 with a triple, 2 runs scored and an RBI.
The Cavaliers will play on Friday against McHenry County College.  The game will be played at the Inwood Sports Complex in Joliet at 11 a.m..

Cavs Pick Up Two
Record: 37-9

The KCC softball team picked up two wins to close out the final regular season game.  The lady Cavaliers came out on top 9-1 and 16-3.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (17-3) pitched 5 innings, allowed 1 run, 3 hits, walked 4 and struck out 6.
Krista Kunz finished the game goin 3-4 with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and 5 RBI's while Brittany Morgan went 3-3 with a homerun, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Brittany Fairbairn finished 1-3 and Maggie Ruyle went 1-2 with a double and 2 runs scored.
In the second game, Paige Sinnett (9-4) recorded the win.  Sinnett pitched 5 innings, allowed 3 runs, 5 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3.
Laura Pfotenhauer went 2-2 with a homerun, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI's while Megan Flatt finished 2-2 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.  Krista Kunz went 2-4 with 1 RBI and Paige Sinnett was 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
The Cavaliers will host Prairie State College on Tuesday in the first round of the Region IV tournament.  The Cavaliers, who took the #1 spot, will play at 1 p.m..

Cavs Drop Two to Heartland College
Record: 35-9

The KCC softball team dropped two games to Heartland College, losing 1-0 and 2-1.
In game one, Brianna Nelson (6-1) took the loss.  Nelson pitched 6 innings, allowed 1 run, 8 hits, walked 1 and struck out 1.
Kayla Kramer was the only Cavalier to pick up a hit, going 1-2.
In the second game, Ashley Havertine (16-3) recorded the loss.  Havertine threw 5 innings, allowed 1 run, 3 hits, walked 4 and struck out 6.
Kayla Kramer finished 2-3 with a homerun, 1 run scored and a RBI.  Megan Flatt, Brittany Fairbairn, Krista Kunz and Natalie Zalud all finished 1-3 from the plate.
The Cavaliers will host Illinois Valley C.C. on Saturday.  Game time is at noon.

Cavs Shut Out College of DuPage
Record:  35-7

The KCC softball team picked up two wins against College on DuPage on Thursday.  The Cavaliers won 10-0 and 6-0.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (16-2) took the win.  Havertine pitched 5 innings, allowed 3 hits and struck out 11.
Brittany Fairbairn went 3-4 with 3 double's, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Maggie Ruyle finished 3-3 with 2 RBI's and Brittany Morgan finished 2-3 with a double and 1 RBI.
In game two, Paige Sinnett (8-4) took the win.  Sinnett pitched 6 innings, allowed 6 hits, walked 1 and struck out 2.
Laura Pfotenhauer finished 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI's while Krista Kunz was 3-4 with a double and 1 RBI.  Natalie Zalud was 2-4 from the plate with a double and Megan Flatt finished 2-4 with 2 runs scored.
The Cavaliers will play at Heartland College on Friday.  Game time is at 2 p.m..

Cavs Win
Record: 33-7

The KCC softball team downed Prairie State College 10-2 and 8-0.
In game one, Paige Sinnett (7-4) was the winning pitcher.  Sinnett pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 runs, 4 hits and struck out 7.
Brittany Fairbairn finished 3-4 with 3 runs scored while Brittany Morgan went 2-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.  Krista Kunz ended 3-3 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored.
Brianna Nelson (6-0) was the winning pitcher in game two.  Nelson threw 5 innings, allowed no hits and had 1 strike out.
Kayla Kramer went 1-3 with a triple while Laura Pfotenhauer finished 2-3 with a double, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
The Cavaliers will play at College of DuPage on Thursday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Split with ICC
Record: 31-7

The KCC softball team took game one 9-2 against Illinois Central College, but fell in game two 5-4.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (15-2) took the win.  Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 2 runs, 10 hits and struck out 6.
Brittany Morgan finished 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 homeruns and 7 RBI's.  Natalie Zalud went 2-3 with 2 runs scored while Kayla Kramer went 1-3 with a double.
In game two, Paige Sinnett (6-4) was the losing pitcher.  Sinnett pitched 6 innings, allowed 4 runs, 12 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3.
Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-3 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Krista Kunz was 1-3 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI  while Laura Pfotenhauer finished 1-3 from the plate.
The Cavaliers will host Prairie State College on Wednesday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Take Two
Record: 30-6

With Saturday's games canceled, due to the weather, the KCC women's softball team was geared up to play the host St. Louis-Meramec on Sunday.  In game one, the Cavaliers came out on top 7-0 and in game two took the 15-1 victory as well.
Ashley Havertine (14-2) was the winning pitcher in the shut-out.  Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 5 hits and struck out 13.
Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-4 with a double and 1 RBI in the win.  Laura Pfotenhauer was 1-3 from the plate with 2 runs scored.
In the second game, Brianna Nelson (5-0) took the victory.  Nelson pitched 3 innings, allowed 1 run, 6 hits and struck out 1.
Maggie Ruyle finished the game going 3-3 including a homerun, double, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI's.  Brittany Morgan went 3-4 with 2 doubles while Natalie Zalud finished 3-3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI's.  Krista Kunz went 2-4 with 3 RBI's. 
The Cavaliers will play on Tuesday, at home, against Illinois Central College.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Split
Record: 28-6

The KCC women's softball team won the first game against Parkland College 3-1, but fell in game two 5-3.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (13-2) picked up the win.  Havertine pitched 8 innings, allowed 1 run, 6 hits, walked 1 and struck out 7.
Krista Kunz and Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-4 from the plate while Megan Flatt finished 2-3.  Kayla Kramer went 2-4 in the game with a double and 1 RBI.
In game two, Paige Sinnett (6-3) recorded the loss.  Sinnett pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowed 5 runs and 12 hits.
From the plate, Megan Flatt finished 1-3 with homerun and 2 RBI's while Brittany Fairbairn and Krista Kunz each picked up a single hit in the loss.
The Cavaliers will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to play in the St. Louis-Meramec Tournament over the weekend.

Cavs Shut Out J.J.C.
Record: 27-5

The KCC softball team picked up two wins on Wednesday, defeating Joliet Junior College 8-0 and 9-0.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (12-2) took the win.  Havertine pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 hits and struck out 6.
Megan Flatt finished the game going 3-3 with 2 doubles, a homerun and 3 RBI's.  Krista Kunz went 2-3 while Natalie Zalud, Laura Pfotenhauer and Kayla Kramer all finished 1-3 from the plate.  Pfotenhauer recorded a homerun and 4 RBI's in the game.
In game two, Bri Cantanese (5-1) took the win.  Bri pitched 3 innings, allowed 3 hits, walked 1 and struck out 2.  Brittany Fairbairn finished 3-4 including 2 doubles while Maggie Ruyle went 2-3 including a homerun and 2 RBI's.  Megan Flatt and Laura Pfotenhauer both went 2-3 and both picked up 3 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will play at Parkland College on Friday.  Game time is at 2:30 p.m..

Cavs Win Two
Record: 25-5

The KCC softball team picked up two wins against Triton College.  The Cavaliers won 29-3 and 15-3.
In game one, Paige Sinnett (6-2) took the victory.  Paige pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 hits, 3 runs, walked 1 and struck out 3.
Natalie Zalud and Brittany Fairbairn both finished the first game going 3-5 from the plate.  Zalud also picked up 5 RBI's.  Laura Pfotenhauer finished 3-5 including a double, 2 homeruns and 10 RBI's while Brittany Morgan went 3-5 with 2 RBI's.
In game two, Briana Nelson (4-0) was the winning pitcher.  Nelson threw 7 innings, allowed 3 runs, 8 hits, walked 1 and struck out 2.
Kayla Kramer, Megan Flatt and Maggie Ruyle each finished 3-5 from the plate.  Kramer had a homerun and 2 RBI's, Flatt finished with a double and 4 RBI's and Ruyle finished with 3 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will play at Joliet Junior College on Wednesday. Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Win Two
Record: 23-5

The KCC softball team was unable to play the first day of the Kankakee Tournament, due to the weather, but were able to pick up two wins on the second day.  The Cavaliers shut-out Triton College 10-0 then downed Illinois Central College 7-3.
In the Triton game, Ashley Havertine (11-2) recorded the win.  Ashley pitched 5 innings, allowed 1 hit and struck out 6.
Natalie Zalud finished the game going 3-3 including a double, while Brittany Fairbairn went 3-4 with 2 doubles.  Megan Flatt was 2-3 from the plate with a double and 3 RBI's and Brittany Morgan finished 1-3 with 2 RBI's.
In the second game of the day, Bri Cantanese (4-1) took the win.  Cantanese pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowed 3 runs, 10 hits and struck out 4.  Paige Sinnett (1) trecorded the save.
Krista Kunz went 4-4 with a double and 2 RBI's while Maggie Ruyle finished 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI's.  Kayla Kramer was 1-3 from the plate with a single RBI and Natalie Zalud finished 1-4.
The Cavaliers will play at Triton College on Tuesday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Record: 21-5

The KCC softball team was unable to pick up a win against Heartland College, losing 6-1 and 7-4.
In game one,  Ashley Havertine (10-2) took the loss. Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 6 runs, 10 hits, walked 4 and struck out 4.
From the plate, Brittany Fairbairn, Laura Pfotenhauer and Megan Flatt each went 1-3.  Brittany Morgan finished 1-3 with an RBI while Ashley Havertine went 1-2. 
In game two, Paige Sinnett (5-2) was the losing pitcher.  Sinnett pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowed 4 runs, 8 hits and struck out 2.
Brittany Faibairn went 2-3, Krista Kunz went 1-4 with 2 RBI's and Laura Pfotenhauer finished 1-4.  Megan Flatt and Brittany Morgan both finished 1-3 with 2 RBI's apiece.
The Cavaliers will host the Kankakee Tournament over the weekend.

Cavs Shut-Out SSC
Record: 21-3

The KCC softball team downed South Suburban College 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.  The Cavaliers were unable to play the second game of the doubleheader due to the weather.
Ashley Havertine (10-1) was the winning pitcher.  Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 4 hits, walked 3 and struck out 9.
Seven Cavaliers each picked up 2 hits in the win.  Natalie Zalud, Brittany Morgan and Laura Pfotenhauer each finished 2-5 with 1 RBI, Krista Kunz went 2-5 with 2 RBI's and Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-5.  Maggie Ruyle went 2-4 with 2 RBI's while Megan Flatt finished 2-3.
The Cavaliers will host Heartland College on Friday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs go 4-1 at ICC tournament
Record: 20-3

The KCC softball picked up 4 wins and 1 loss at the ICC tournament over the weekend. 
In game one, the Cavaliers defeated St. Louis C.C. - Meramec, 5-1.
Brianna Nelson (3-0) picked up the win.  Nelson pitched 7 innings, allowed 1 run, 2 hits and walked 1.
Krista Kunz finished 2-4 from the plate including a homerun and 1 RBI.  Brittany Fairbairn and Kylie Justus both finished 2-3.
In the second game, the Lady Cavaliers fell to Illinois Central College, 2-1.
Paige Sinnett (5-1) recorded the loss.  Sinnett pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowed 2 runs, 9 hits, walked 1 and struck out 2.  Paige also finished 1-2 from the plate. 
Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-4, while Kayla Kramer, Laura Pfotenhauer and Maggie Ruyle all finished 1-3 from the plate.
In the third game, the Cavaliers shut out Lincoln Land C.C., 3-0.
Ashley Havertine (8-1) took the win. Ashley threw 7 innings, allowed 4 hits and struck out 7.
Natalie Zalud went 2-3 with a triple, Krista Kunz went 2-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI's and Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-3 with 1 RBI.
In the fourth game of the tournament, the Cavaliers defeated St. Louis C.C. -Meramec for a second time, 14-6.
Bri Catanese (1-0) pitched 6 innings, allowed 6 runs, 8 hits, and struck out 4.
Brittany Morgan went 3-4 from the plate including 2 doubles, a homerun and 4 RBI's.  Kayla Kramer also went 2-4 with a double, 2 homeruns and 3 RBI's.
In the last game of the tournament, the Lady Cavs defeated Illinois Central College, 4-2.
Ashley Havertine (9-1) pitched 7 innings, allowed 2 runs, 6 hits, and struck out 9.
Natalie Zalud finished 2-4 with 2 RBI's while Brittany Morgan and Brittany Fairbairn went 1-3.
The Cavaliers will play at South Suburban College on Tuesday.  Game time is at 3:30 p.m..

Cavs Split
Record: 16-2

The KCC softball team picked up a 8-2 win in game one, but fell to Parkland College in game two, 3-1.
Ashley Havertine (7-1) picked up the win for the Cavs.  Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 2 runs, 8 hits, walked 3 and struck out 5.
From the plate, Brittany Morgan, Natalie Zalud, Maggie Ruyle, Krista Kunz, Brittany Fairbairn and Kayla Kramer went 1-3.  Morgan recorded 1 RBI while Ruyle recorded 3 RBI's.
In game two, Bri Catanese (2-1) took the loss.  Catanese pitched 5 innings, allowed 6 hits, 2 runs and struck out 3.
Brittany Morgan finished 3-4 from the plate while Krista Kunz and Brittany Fairbairn went 2-3.  Megan Flatt finished 1-3 in the game.
The Cavaliers will play in the Illinois Central College over the weekend.  On Saturday, the team will play at Noon, 2 and 4 p.m. and on Sunday, the lady cavs will play at 1 and 3 p.m..

Cavs Win 2
Record: 15-1

The KCC softball team picked up two more wins on Wednesday, defeating Danville Area C.C. 15-2 and 10-0.
In game one, Paige Sinnett (5-0) took the win.  Paige threw 6 innings, allowed 2 runs, 6 hits, walked 1 and struck out 5.
From the plate, Brittany Fairbairn and Laura Pfotenhauer both finished 3-4 with Pfotenhauer recording 3 RBI's.  Megan Flatt finished 3-5 with 3 RBI's while Maggie Ruyle went 2-3 with one RBI.
In game two, Brianna Nelson (1-0) took the win pitching a 5 inning no-hitter and recorded 3 strike outs.
Laura Pfotenhauer and Brittany Morgan both finished 3-3 while Brittany Fairbairn went 2-4 with 1 RBI and Maggie Ruyle finished 2-3 with 1 RBI.
The Cavaliers will play in a makeup game on Thursday against Parkland College.  Game time is at 2:30 p.m..

Cavs Win
Record: 13-1

The KCC lady cavaliers picked up two more wins in the Kankakee Tournament, winning the championship.
In the first game, the Cavaliers took on College of Lake County and won 15-1.  Ashley Havertine (6-1) took the win.  Havertine pitched 6 innings allowed 1 run, 2 hits, walked 3 and struck out 10.
From the plate, Megan Flatt finished 2-2 including a homerun and 5 RBI's while Brittany Fairbairn and Laura Pfotenhauer each went 2-3. 
In game championship, Bri Catanese (2-0) took the win while downing Grand Rapids C.C. 10-1.  Catanese pitched 5 innings, allowed 1 run, 2 hits, walked 2 and struck out 7.
Natalie Zalud finished 2-3 from the plate with a double and 2 RBI's while Brittany Morgan went 2-3 with a double and 4 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will play at Danville Area C.C. on Wednesday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Win 2
Record: 11-1

The KCC softball team picked up two wins on Saturday, in the first day of the Kankakee Tournament.  The Cavs defeated Waubonsee C.C. 5-1 in game one, then Grand Rapids C.C. 13-1 in game two.
In the first game, Paige Sinnett (4-0) picked up the victory. Paige pitched 7 innings, allowed 1 run, 4 hits, walked 1 and struck out 11.
From the plate, both Natalie Zalud and Brittany Fairbairn finished 2-4.  Zalud recorded 3 RBI's while Fairbairn recorded 1 RBI.  Kayla Kramer finished the game going 2-3.
In game two, Ashley Havertine (5-1) took the win.  Havertine pitched 5 innings, allowed 1 run, 1 hit, walked 2 and struck out 4.
Kayla Kramer finished 3-3 with a double and a triple while Krista Kunz finished 2-2 with 1 RBI.  Maggie Ruyle and Megan Flatt each went 2-3 with 2 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will play on Sunday in two game in the Kankakee Tournament.

Cavs Down JJC
Record: 9-1

The KCC softball team pulled out two wins against Joliet Junior College on Tuesday, winning game one 25-0 and game two 9-1.
In the first game, Ashley Havertine (4-1) took the win.  Havertine pitched 3 innings, allowed 3 hits, walked 1 and struck out 8.  From the plate, Krista Kunz and Brittany Fairbairn both finished 3-5 with 3 RBI's while Laura Pfotenhauer went 3-5 with 1 RBI.  2007 all-american selection, Megan Flatt, finished game one 2-3 with 3 RBI's.
In game two, Brianna Nelson (1-0) picked up the win.  Nelson threw 4 innings, allowed 1 run, 2 hits, walked 1 and struck out 1.
Maggie Ruyle finished 3-3 from the plate while Kylie Justus went 2-2.
The Cavaliers will host Parkland College on Thursday.  Game time is at 2 p.m..

Cavs Win Two
Record: 7-1

The KCC softball team picked up two wins against Robert Morris College - Chicago 8-2 and 10-2 on Monday.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (3-1) picked up the victory.  Havertine pitched 7 innings, allowed 2 runs, 4 hits, walked 3 and struck out 4.
Natalie Zalud finished 2-4 with 2 RBI's.  Krista Kunz also finished 2-4 while Laura Pfotenhauer (1-4, RBI) and Megan Flatt (1-3, 2 RBI) both hit a homerun in the win. 
In game two, Paige Sinnett (3-0) took the victory. Sinnett pitched 4 innings, allowed 1 hit, walked 1 and struck out 2. 
Maggie Ruyle and Krista Kunz finished 2-4 from the plate with an RBI.  Brittany Morgan went 1-3 with a double while Megan Flatt finished 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI's.

Cavs Split
Record: 5-1

The KCC women's softball team fell to Moraine Valley C.C. 7-6 in game one, then came back to win 10-2 in game two.
Ashley Havertine (2-1) recorded the loss.  Havertine pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowed 7 runs, 4 hits, walked 9 and struck out 9.
Laura Pfotenhauer finished 1-4 with an RBI while Brittany Morgan went 2-4 with an RBI.  Shortstop, Kayla Kramer, finished 2-3 with a triple and 2 RBI's.
In game two, Bri Catanese (1-0) recorded the win.  Catanese pitched 5 innings, allowed 2 runs, 6 hits, walked 3 and struck out 2.
Brittany Fairbairn, Laura Pfotenhauer, Megan Flatt and Kayla Kramer each finished 2-4 from the plate.  Flatt recorded 3 RBI's and a double while Pfotenhauer had 2 RBI's and a triple.  Natalie Zalud and Maggie Ruyle both went 2-3 from the plate with Ruyle picking up 3 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will host Kishwaukee College on Monday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Win Two
Record: 4-0

The KCC softball team picked up two wins against Prairie State College 10-0 and 15-0.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (2-0) picked up the win.  Havertine pitched 3 innings and struck out 6 opponents.
Krista Kunz and Laura Pfotenhauer both went 2-2 in the win.  Pfotenhauer recorded a homerun and 3 RBI's while Kayla Kramer finished 3-3 with 2 RBI's and 2 doubles.
In game two, Paige Sinnett (2-0) took the win.  Sinnett pitched 3 innings, allowed 2 hits and struck out 5.
Natalie Zalud finished 2-4 with 2 RBI's while Maggie Ruyle and Brittany Morgan both went 2-2 from the plate.  Sophomore, Megan Flatt, finished 2-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will host play at Moraine Valley C.C. on Thursday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..

Cavs Win
Record: 2-0

The KCC softball team picked up their first two wins of the season, defeating Trinity Christian College 8-0 and 11-3.
In game one, Ashley Havertine (1-0) picked up the shut-out victory.  Havertine pitched 4.6 innings, allowed 2 hits, no runs, walked 2 and struck out 10.
In the second game, Paige Sinnett (1-0) took the win.  Paige threw 3 innings, allowed 3 runs, 3 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3.
From the plate, Brittany Morgan finished 4-7 while Megan Flatt finished 3-7 with 2 homeruns and 7 RBI's.  Kayla Kramer was 3-5 from the plate with 1 homerun and 4 RBI's and Laura Pfotenhauer finished 3-4 with 2 RBI's.
The Cavaliers will host Prairie State College on Friday.  Game time is at 3 p.m..
