Cavs Fall to Kirkwood C.C./Claim 2nd Place
Final Record: 30-3
The KCC women's basketball team entered the NJCAA national tournament with all hopes of bringing homethe championship hardwood but fell short to Kirkwood C.C. 78-53, for the second year, and brought home the Runner-Up trophy.
Casey Siddens led the team in scoring with 13 points in her final game as a lady cavalier. All-Tournament selection, Abby Williams, ended with 8 points and 4 rebounds while Jenna French and Aimee Mishler ended with 7 and 4 points, respectively. Jenny Coronelli dished out 3 assists and Natalie Christenson ended with 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assists and 1 blocked shot.

Cavs win berth to Championship game
Record: 30-2
The KCC women's basketball team downed Mott C.C. 72-55 on Friday, and secured their spot in the NJCAA national championship game for the second straight year.
Jenny Coronelli finished the game with 17 points and dished out 4 assists. Abby Williams recorded 13 points and had 9 rebounds while freshman, Ashton Mertens, finished with a double-double, 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Cavaliers will play against Kirkwood C.C. in the championship on Friday. Game time is at 8 p.m..

Cavs Win
Record: 29-2
The KCC women's basketball team picked up a 55-51 victory over Genesee C.C. in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Casey Siddens finished the game with 12 points while Abby Williams recorded a double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds. Freshman forward, Denita Phelps had 2 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Natalie Christenson made solid contributions with 8 points and 5 rebounds.
The Cavaliers will take on Mott C.C. in the semi-finals of the National Tournament on Friday. Game time is at 8 p.m..

Cavs take Championship
Record: 28-2
The KCC women's basketball team claimed the Region IV championship for the 3rd year in a row, defeating South Suburban College 74-67.
Casey Siddens, who was named tournament MVP, scored a game high 29 points in the win. All-Tournament team selections, Abby Williams and Aimee Mishler had 15 and 13 points, respectively. Williams pulled down 9 rebounds while Ashton Mertens recorded 10. Jenny Coronelli dished out 7 assists in the win.
The Cavaliers will play in the NJCAA National Tournament, March 19-22 in East Peoria at Illinois Central College. Game times and seedings are still TBA.

Cavs WIN
Record: 27-2
The KCC lady cavaliers will once again be playing for the Region IV Championship against South Suburban College on March 8.
The team defeated Prairie State College in the semifinals on March 1, 97-41.
Casey Siddens scored a team high 19 points while Abby Williams chipped in 16. Ashton Mertens finished with 12 points and Aimee Mishler and Deja Love each scored 11 points in the win. Jenna French pulled down a team high 7 rebounds while Jenny Coronelli dished out 7 assists.
The Cavaliers will play in the Championship at Triton College on Saturday. Game time is at 2:30 p.m..

Cavs Down Wright College
Record: 26-2
The KCC women's basketball team defeated Wright College, 112-33, in the quarterfinals of the Region IV Tournament on Thursday night.
Jenny Coronelli and Casey Siddens both scored 26 points in the victory. Freshman, Ashton Mertens, recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Abby Williams and Deja Love scored 14 and 11 points, respectively.
The Cavaliers will take on Prairie State College in the semifinals on Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m.. The semifinals and championship will both be played at Triton College in River Grove.

Cavs Win last Regular Season Game
Record: 25-2
The KCC women's basketball team finished out their 2007-2008 regular season with a 84-45 win over Sauk Valley C.C..
Four sophomores scored in double digits, Abby Williams led with 17 points, Natalie Christenson had 15, Jenna French ended with 12, Casey Siddens chipped in 11 and Aimee Mishler had 10. Christenson hauled down a game high 10 rebounds while Jenny Coronelli dished out 11 assists. Deja Love chipped in 11 points and pulled down 4 rebounds in the win.

The KCC women's basketball pulled out a win against Wright College, 106-33 on Thursday night.
Denita Phelps recorded her first double-double of the season with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Aimee Mishler and Ashton Mertens both scored 15 points apiece while Natalie Christenson and Jenny Coronelli each had 11 points. Casey Siddens chipped in 10 points while Deja Love and Jenna French each had 9 points and 11 and 9 rebounds, respectively.

The KCC women's basketball team kept the winning going, downing Lake Land College 79-73.
Ashton Mertens recorded another double-double scoring 16 points and hauling down 17 rebounds. Aimee Mishler ended with 14 points and 6 assists, Casey Siddens recorded 13 points and Abby Williams had 12 points.

The KCC women's basketball team picked up their 22nd victory against Highland C.C. on Saturday. The Lady Cavs downed the Lady Cougars 67-56.
Freshmen, Ashton Mertens, stepped up to score 20 points and hauled down a team high 13 rebounds while Denita Phelps scored 8 points and had 10 rebounds. Jenny Coronelli finished with 10 points and 5 assists.

The KCC Lady Cavaliers picked up another win on Wednesday against Millikin University JV, 74-51.
Jenna French recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Ashton Mertens chipped in 12 points and had 8 rebounds while Jenny Coronelli finished with 10 points and dished out 8 assists.

The KCC women's basketball team came out on top of Region IV rival, South Suburban College, 75-61 on Martin Luther King Day.
Ashton Mertens ended with 20 points and hauled down 9 rebounds in the win, while Casey Siddens recorded 18 points. Abby Williams recorded a double-double in the win scoring 11 points and pulling down 13 rebounds while freshman forward, Denita Phelps, also recorded a double-double with 12 points and a game high 15 rebounds.

After picking up their first loss of the season the Cavaliers were on a mission to get their win streak going again. The Cavaliers did just that, defeating Olive Harvey College 108-41 at Olive Harvey. The Cavaliers forced 25 turnovers and out rebounded their opponent 57-10.
Abby Williams matched her career high in points scoring 29 and hauled down a 9 rebounds. Casey Siddens chipped in 25 points while Aimee Mishler ended with 11. Natalie Christenson and Ashton Mertens both recorded 10 points while pulling down 9 and 8 rebounds, respectively.

The KCC women's basketball was unable to connect with their free throws and found themselves with their first loss of the season. The Cavs fell to John Wood C.C. 78-75.

The KCC women's basketball team kept their record flawless after defeating Kalamazoo Valley C.C. 78-69 on Saturday. The Cavaliers have rounded out their 2007 season and will not see game action until the 5th of January.
Natalie Christenson led the way for the Cavs, pouring in a game high 27 points. Christenson also pulled down 4 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and recorded 2 steals. Casey Siddens followed with 16 points and Denita Phelps had 12 points. Coronelli dished out 9 assists while Phelps pulled down 9 rebounds. Freshman, Ashton Mertens, did not go unnoticed, ending with 6 points, 3 assists, 10 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Lady Cavs will play on January 5th at home against Black Hawk East College. Game time is at 3 p.m..

The KCC women's basketball team came out on top of Joliet Junior College, winning 87-73 on Wednesday night.
06-07' All-American Abby Williams poured in a game high 28 points and hauled down 8 rebounds in the win. Casey Siddens chipped in 17 points and Aimee Mishler ended with 14 points. Freshman, Ashton Mertens, finished the game with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
