The Kankakee Area Community Training Center (CTC) is an organization which has contracted with the American Heart Association (AHA) to provide basic and/or advanced adult and pediatric life support training courses to the community it serves.

The Kankakee Area Community Training Center includes the following partners: Illinois Veterans Home of Manteno, Kankakee Community College, Provena St. Mary's, Riverside Medical Center and Shapiro Developmental Center.

CTC standards

Community Training Centers are responsible for assuring that the courses offered maintain the quality standards and guidelines as set by the AHA. CTC's will work in a cooperative effort with the Affiliate Continuous Quality Improvement program. The AHA will monitor and review the CTC's course records and participant surveys to assure that the CTC is meeting the AHA's standards.

Courses

The two training courses offered through the CTC are the HeartSaver Course and the HealthCare Provider Course.

Each year, the CTC has an instructor class and a Training Center Faculty orientation.
