Contractor Safety Program
Prairie Safety Council-Safety Certification Program
This training program is designed to improve upon existing safety training and decrease the possibility of serious or fatal accidents in business and industry.
It was designed through the collaborative efforts of the Prairie Safety Council, a group of local employers and safety directors that endorse this safety certification program.
The Prairie Safety Council, in its effort to advance the recommendations of the former Kankakee Industrial Alliance, recognizes the importance of establishing a minimum standard for contractor safety training.
Program features
The four-hour standardized program includes the following:

An introduction to plant safety rules

Hazard communication
-
Personal hazards and protection
-
Equipment hazards
-
Emergencies and environmental concerns
Certification
Course completion results in a one-year certification.

Classes are held on the KCC campus at the following times: first Tuesday and fourth Thursday,
