The following are the FY 2007 – 2011 KCC strategic goals (Full goals plus annual initiatives).

1. Build organizational capability and employee abilities through continuous improvement.

2. Promote student success by increasing student learning and retention.
KCC will seek to improve learning and student support so that students are retained until they achieve their academic goals.

3. Achieve steady growth in enrollment.
KCC will seek to achieve enrollment growth through program development and creation of new programs along with targeted marketing.

4. Strengthen community connections and partnerships.
These partnerships include partnerships with:
o Business and industry for economic development
o High schools for dual credit and articulation
o District 111 partnerships to increase college participation
o Universities for pathways for the baccalaureate degrees

5. Establish diversity as an institutional strength.
Diversity will serve as a blueprint for both KCC as a comprehensive college and for our community. The college will serve as a resource for a diversity of experiences with emphasis on the arts.

6. Promote the education of sustainability as a unifying concept for future college development.
