Prospective Students
At KCC, students can begin the first two years of study for virtually any bachelor's degree program. The transfer programs described in KCC's catalog include statewide recommended courses typically taken by freshmen and sophomores who wish to gain a solid academic foundation and transfer credits toward specific bachelor's degrees at Illinois four-year colleges and universities.
KCC offers the general education courses required for nearly every college major, including those not found in KCC's catalog. Courses in these curricula satisfy lower division requirements (the first two years) toward a bachelor's degree in numerous fields. Consult your adviser to review course selections and transfer plans.
Students planning to transfer should consult the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) guidelines, the Course Applicability System (CAS) and the admission requirements for baccalaureate transfer programs.
These programs are ideal for students who have not yet decided what their specific major will be at a senior institution or students who will pursue a major for which KCC does not offer a specific transfer degree.
