What is Student Advisory Council?

Members of the Student Advisory Council provide crucial insight into what KCC students want and need. They are enthusiastic, motivated, creative, friendly, and most importantly, able to communicate student concerns to administration and institutional information to their peers. Council members exhibit leadership and ability while working in a team environment, and are willing to go the extra mile to get things accomplished at KCC.

What are the roles and duties of a Student Advisory Council member?

For starters, they….

  • Represent the interests of the KCC student body to college administration
  • Develop student activities to benefit the entire college community
  • Promote college pride and participation in student activities
  • Serve as student representatives to outside organizations
  • Much, much more!

What are the benefits of being a Student Advisory Council member?

Being a member of the Student Advisory Council is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, make long-lasting friendships and challenge yourself to be a student leader. Council members network with college administration, faculty and staff, and gain valuable work and leadership experience. They also have exclusive scholarship opportunities for KCC and nationwide.

Any student enrolled in six or more semester hours at KCC with a 2.25 GPA or higher may apply to become a Student Advisory Council member.
