GED

The General Educational Development (GED) tests allow adults to demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills equivalent to a high school diploma. Having a GED provides many opportunities—especially in the job market—for persons who did not graduate from high school. It also is a first step toward pursuing higher education opportunities.

KCC's GED Preparation program helps adults determine if they are ready to take the GED tests and provides assistance if they need to prepare for the tests. All GED classes are free.

The GED tests are also administered by KCC.

This section will provide useful information on the GED Preparation program. If you have more questions, contact Claire McElroy, director of Adult and Community Education at (815) 802-8302 or e-mail cmcelroy@kcc.edu.
